Summer love

May 21st, 2009

Ah, I love summer.  I can’t believe how many hours there are in a day.  Without school to worry about, I feel like I have endless free time, even after the standard 40-hour work week.

I’ve been kind of worried about wasting my whole summer by sleeping in late every day.  Thus, I have implented a schedule for myself.  I really do better with this kind of thing.  It helps me feel like I’m taking advantage of my time, even my leisure time, and that makes me happier.  So, I set my alarm every day, get to sleep at a pre-determined time every night, and fill my day with activities to keep me occupied.  It’s been working out great.  I’ve been getting lots of fresh air and sunshine, doing a good amount of reading and writing, played my Xbox, goofed around on my computer, and watched some movies.  If I hadn’t been planning out my days in advance, I probably would have spent a lot more time sleeping and sitting in front of the computer clicking around the interwebs.  I’m really happy with my summer so far.

One thing I’d like to do this summer is record a couple of the simple acoustic songs I have.  The ability to sit down with my computer and record a song is something that has always eluded me.  Somehow, the motivation, ability, and free time never seem to come together.  Hopefully I can right that wrong this summer.

Perhaps I will spend some of my time coming up with more interesting blog posts.  And take some pictures!
